Catherine Cortez Masto: The Senate Needs to Do Its Job and Fill the Vacancy on the Supreme Court

Statement

Former Nevada Attorney General and Democratic candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on news Washington Republicans plan to go a full year before filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court:

"Voting on presidential appointments isn't a perk Senators get to enjoy at their leisure -- it's part of their job description. Partisan politics should not get in the way of filling a vacancy on the highest court in the land. This isn't a game -- the Supreme Court has important matters it is considering and needs a full court. I urge my opponents, Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck, to join me in calling on Senate Republicans to do their job and take up President Obama's appointment as soon as he announces it."
