Former Nevada Attorney General and Democratic candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on the 7th anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act:

"Today we're reminded that while we've taken monumental strides in closing the pay gap between men and women, we still have significant work to do in ending pay discrimination. Latina and African American women in particular suffer from pay discrimination, making only 60 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. In the Senate, I will work with both Parties to solve problems like ending pay discrimination. In contrast, my opponent, Congressman Heck, voted three times against ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work. The choice for Nevada women on paycheck fairness is clear: while I will work across the aisle to pass equal pay for equal work legislation, Congressman Heck stands with his Party's leadership in Washington by opposing real solutions to ending pay discrimination."
