Former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto announced today her campaign has been endorsed by SEIU Local 1107. Local 1107 represents more than 17,000 members in Nevada.
"As the daughter of a Teamster, I'm proud to earn the endorsement of the thousands of SEIU members in Nevada," said Cortez Masto. "While my opponent, Congressman Heck, opposes increasing the minimum wage and votes with his Party's leadership 90% of the time, in the Senate I will work with both Parties to solve problems and raise the minimum wage so Nevada families can live off the wages they earn.
"We're standing with Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate because she will always stand with us," said Cherie Mancini, President of SEIU Local 1107. "Catherine Cortez Masto was a problem solver as Attorney General who worked with both parties to help Nevadans, and she'll do the same as our next Senator. Unlike her opponent, Congressman Heck, Catherine supports giving working families a raise. In contrast, Congressman Heck has sided with his Party's bosses in Washington in opposing an increase in the minimum wage. "
