Catherine Cortez Masto Statement on Roe v. Wade Anniversary

Statement

Former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for United States Senate Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade:

"Because of this decision, women have control over their reproductive health and their futures, not politicians. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the rising cost of college or making the economy work for everyone, my opponent, Congressman Heck, is focused on a narrow ideological agenda that would take us back to a time when women could not legally get the care they needed. Congressman Heck has voted time and again to defund Planned Parenthood, to restrict access to abortion, and supported the Hobby Lobby decision that would let corporate bosses make health care decisions that should be made by a woman and her doctor. Congressman Heck even voted to criminalize abortion for rape victims. In the Senate, I will focus on working with both Republicans and Democrats to solve problems, not wage endless ideological battles that restrict women's access to health care."
