Catherine Cortez Masto Statement on Anniversary of Immigration Executive Action

Former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto issued the following statement on the anniversary of President Obama's executive action to keep families together:

"It's disheartening that one year after President Obama's announcement, families are still at risk of being torn apart. These executive actions wouldn't even be necessary if Congress had done its job. Congress needs to pass comprehensive immigration reform that secures our borders and allows millions of undocumented immigrants to come out of the shadows and earn a path to citizenship. Unfortunately, instead of passing immigration reform, politicians in Washington continue to play games with the lives of immigrant families by trying to defund the immigration executive actions and repeal birthright citizenship. As Nevada's former Attorney General, I worked with both parties to solve problems and help Nevada families. In the Senate, I will continue that record by working with Democrats and Republicans to finally pass comprehensive immigration reform."
