Catherine Cortez Masto Statement on Sage Grouse Lawsuit

Statement

Date: Oct. 22, 2015
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Issues: Education

Former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto released the following statement on the Attorney General's office's premature lawsuit against the federal government over the sage grouse:

"Unlike the gridlock and dysfunction we see in Washington, here in Nevada we put aside partisan labels to get things done. We saw that in the last legislative session when Democrats and Republicans came together with Governor Sandoval to pass a historic increase in education funding. Similarly, Governor Sandoval deserves praise for the negotiations he has participated in with other western states and stakeholders around the sage grouse issue. This lawsuit is premature and threatens the negotiations Governor Sandoval has been engaged in with the Department of the Interior."
