Lujan Statement on New Mexico's Fallen Officers Included on Law Enforcement Memorial Wall

Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico's Third District released the following statement today on four New Mexico law enforcement agents killed in the line of duty who are being honored by having their names etched onto the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. Gregg Benner of Rio Rancho, Daniel Webster of Albuquerque, Alex Yazzie of the Navajo Nation, and Rodolfo Ledezma of Clovis are being recognized with the honor.

"Today, four brave individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty are receiving a recognition befitting their honorable service to their communities. Each and every day, Officers Benner, Webster and Yazzie and Patrolman Ledezma put themselves in harm's way in order to protect their fellow New Mexicans. They each made the ultimate sacrifice doing the job they loved.

"Just as their names were etched into the wall, so to have their memories been forever etched into the hearts of the people they served and the loved ones who shared them with us. Today's honor ensures that not only will we remember their sacrifice and their service in New Mexico, but their legacy will live on as they take their place among their fellow law enforcement brothers and sisters who gave their lives to make our nation safer."
