Today, Former Sunnyvale Mayors Pat Castillo and Pat Vorteirre, and former Sunnyvale Vice Mayor Chris Moylan announced their endorsements of Ro Khanna in his 2016 race to represent the 17th Congressional District of California. Each endorsed Mike Honda in 2014.
Mayor Pat Castillo: "Ro Khanna not only has a deep appreciation for education, but he deeply values all of our schools and all of our kids. I know Ro will build the relationships needed between our local school boards and our officials to shape the pathway forward for future generations."
Mayor Pat Vorteirre: "Whether it's his emphasis on incentivizing critical thinking in our schools, STEM education, or plans for debt free college, Ro Khanna will be the champion our students need throughout their lives."
Vice Mayor Moylan: "Ro's commitment to education, affordable housing and jobs proves to me that he is the candidate that will deliver for working families."
Ro Khanna accepting the endorsements: "As the next Congressman for the 17th District my commitment to the people of the 17th District is to get things done for every family, every child and every school. But that means we need to change the way we practice our politics. I won't take money from PACs, lobbyists or corporations, and I'll focus more on progress than partisanship."
