Today, Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) released the following statement on Dr. John King's confirmation to serve as Secretary of Education.

"Throughout his career, Secretary King has shown a commitment to civil rights and a belief that every student deserves a great education, regardless of their background, zip code, or socioeconomic status." said Polis. "The next year will be a crucial time for students and families as we implement the Every Student Succeeds Act. I'm confident that Secretary King's leadership will be key to successfully enacting the law and look forward to working with him on implementation. We'll also continue to work alongside him to address the ongoing student loan crisis, and employ innovative methods that will decrease college cost, increase access, and completion."
