Governor Hassan Announces Job Training Grants for Three New Hampshire Companies in May

Building on her efforts to build an even stronger workforce with the skills and innovative thinking needed for success in good jobs of the 21st century innovation economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that three New Hampshire companies have been awarded job training grants to help train 27 workers in new skills.

The job training grants this month total $67,640, and the companies contributed matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $135,280.

"I am proud to announce the latest round of these critical grants that help New Hampshire workers develop skills for high-quality jobs at growing businesses," Governor Hassan said. "As an essential resource that has helped thousands of Granite State workers develop the skills needed for success in the innovation economy, New Hampshire's Job Training Fund plays an important role in boosting our economy. In order to attract innovative businesses, help existing companies grow, support the creation of good jobs for New Hampshire's middle class families, and keep New Hampshire's economy moving in the right direction, we must maintain our commitment to strengthening our workforce pipeline through job training and higher education."

Watts Regulator of Franklin received a grant of $55,680 to help 23 workers receive a certificate in machining from Lakes Region Community College.
Quality Fabricators LLC from Barrington was awarded a grant of $2,360 for training two employees in Non-Destructive Testing, using Baker Testing for ASNT Level II Visual Inspection Training.
Orion Entrance Control, Inc. of Laconia was awarded a grant of $9,600 to enroll two employees in the Sandler Sales training program.

The Job Training Fund has awarded $8,931,013 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $11,732,717 for a total of $20,663,730 in new training for 25,970 New Hampshire workers.
