Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing Senate Bill 375, a measure establishing the coastal marine natural resources and environment commission:
"Our coastal natural resources are critical to our economy and our high quality of life, and our conservation efforts are essential to protecting what makes our state unique. This includes the Great Bay, which is one of New Hampshire's most precious natural treasures, and we must do everything that we can to protect its magnificent, yet fragile ecosystem. The commission created by this bipartisan bill will examine ways to build on our conservation efforts, and I am proud to sign it into law so that we can continue working to protect coastal and Great Bay waters to ensure healthy fisheries and for the enjoyment of future generations."
