Wayne criticized the on-going push to increase state taxes because he believes it is based on liberal politics, not sound judgement. He knows these efforts will only hamper economic development efforts and cause the state to become less competitive at a time our region can least afford it. While he knows government cannot create jobs, Wayne understands that it can ensure our state is competitive when it comes to attracting employers and supporting the job-creating industries of tomorrow. Under his leadership, Richland Township has led the way in terms of economic development opportunities in the region. As State Senator, Wayne will ensure the residents of Bedford, Cambria and Clearfield counties has access to effective job training and retraining programs. He will work to enable small businesses to create jobs and grow our economy, and will work with legislators and local officials from either party to keep the jobs we have and attract new jobs.
