Gov. John Hickenlooper today appointed Ben Leutwyler and Robert Lung as District Court Judges in the 18th Judicial District (Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln). Leutwyler and Lung will fill the vacancies created by the retirements of the Honorable Marilyn L. Antrim and the Honorable Richard Caschette.
Leutwyler was appointed as a District Court Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District in 2015, and currently presides over a domestic relations docket. Prior to joining the 18th Judicial District, Leutwyler was a partner at Hulen & Leutwyler, LLC. He has also served as Senior Deputy District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District, and worked in the State of Georgia as an Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Department of Law. Mr. Leutwyler earned his B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1983, and his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law in 1990.
Lung is currently a District Court Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District, a position he has held since 2003. He also served as an Assistant Municipal Judge in the City of Lone Tree, Assistant City & County Attorney in Broomfield, and a Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District. He earned his B.A. from Regis University in 1992 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1997.
