Issue Position

Public safety is the most fundamental duty of government and as Attorney General my office will vigorously prosecute criminals.

Unlike President Obama's Justice Department, I believe Missourians are the best judge of justice within our borders. We do not require the federal government to impede on our law enforcement matters.

Stand your ground laws are an important part of crime prevention. The right to self-defense is fundamental. I will respect Missourians rights to lawfully defend their families and property.

Missourians realize that the overwhelming percentage of our law enforcement officers are average folks performing a tough and often thankless job. Many officers I know are dejected from the critical coverage by the mainstream media. I know that most are doing the best they can in difficult circumstances.
