Fighting for Missouri's Farmers
As a fourth-generation owner of the family farm just outside Salem, agriculture has always been and will always be one of my top priorities. Rural America is constantly under attack from the Federal government and I am committed to protecting the rights of those who feed America and the world.
In the State House I authored an Amendment to the Missouri Constitution guaranteeing the rights of Missouri's farmers to run their operation, raise their animals, and harvest their crops in the way they see fit, free of government intrusion. I have continued to champion the rights of farmers in the U.S. Capitol by authoring a repeal of the White House-driven Waters of the United States Rule, which would regulate every stream or pond on a farm, and by writing a bill that orders a full review of all federal regulations. As a Member of the Ways & Means Committee I helped author legislation preventing a massive tax increase on our nation's farmers at the end of 2015, allowing them to immediately expense farm equipment purchases.
My work for farmers has earned endorsements from the largest and most influential agriculture groups, including Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Cattlemen's Association, and Missouri Corn Growers Association.
