As a graduate of our local public schools, Steve knows how fortunate we are to have some of the best public schools in the country. As father of two public school children, Steve understands that we must invest in our schools so our children can compete in the global economy of the future. That means modernizing our schools with the latest technology while still focusing on the fundamentals of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). It also means continuing to recruit and retain the best and brightest teachers to our area. We must invest in Universal Pre-K -- so every child has the opportunity to succeed -- no matter where they live or where they come from. To ensure the middle class has a fair shot at the American Dream, Steve will work to make college more affordable by increasing tax credits for college costs, reforming our student loan system and allowing students to refinance their student loan debt.
