U.S. Senator Ben Sasse Endorses Jim Banks for Congress

Today Jim Banks received the endorsement of Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE), a conservative leader in the United States Senate.

"I met Jim Banks when he was serving our country in Afghanistan. He is a constructive conservative who understands the threats we face at home from an ever expanding fourth branch of government; and abroad from the rise of ISIS and jihad in the Middle East," said Sasse. "He is exactly who we need in Congress today."

Ben Sasse was elected in 2014 in a landslide with the National Review calling him a "Rising Conservative Star." Since joining the United States Senate, Sasse has quickly become a thoughtful conservative leader.

"I am very grateful for Ben Sasse's endorsement and support," said Banks upon receiving word of the senator's endorsement. "Senator Sasse embodies what I hope to portray in Congress myself - fresh constructive conservative leadership that boldly pursues a solution oriented agenda to reestablish American greatness at home and abroad. As we receive word of U.S. forces resuming ground operations in Iraq and mobilizing in Syria to address the threat of ISIS, I appreciate the support of someone who I know shares my deep concern for the status of the American military in carrying out its mission currently and preparing for future conflicts during these tumultuous times. Jim Banks is a Navy Reserve Officer, Indiana businessman, and state senator. Banks was elected to the Indiana State Senate in 2010 and took a leave of absence in mid-2014 through mid-2015 while on active-duty orders in Afghanistan. During his leave of absence his wife, Amanda Banks, was elected to serve in his place in Indianapolis. Jim completed his tour of duty and resumed his duties as a state senator in May 2015. Jim and Amanda live in Columbia City with their three daughters.
