Hoeven Announces Nearly $2 Million in Grants for Housing Services Across North Dakota

Date: Feb. 29, 2016

Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded grants totaling $1,923,067 to support a wide variety of housing services across North Dakota. The funds are made available through HUD's Continuum of Care program, which supports the efforts of non-profit organizations as well as state and local government to address homelessness for individuals and families, especially those fleeing domestic violence, and to promote self-sufficiency.

"Adequate housing is essential to the stability and security of all persons and their families," Hoeven said. "Today's awards will support the ongoing work of North Dakota's many service providers to prevent homelessness and the anguish it causes, fostering the well-being and independence of our state's residents."
