Duffy Joins Colleagues to Condemn Brussels Attacks

Statement

U.S. Representative Sean Duffy (WI-07) joined his colleagues in the House of Representatives to condemn the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium on March 22, 2016 which killed 34 people and wounded hundreds of others. After voting in favor of the resolution, Rep. Duffy offered the following comments:

"We stand with our Belgian friends unequivocally. However, these attacks will not end, so long as fugitive terrorists can live comfortably in their own neighborhood, surrounded by friends and family, without the fear of being killed or captured. The European governments owe it to their people to commit more of their resources to interrupting the threat in their own backyard.

"For our part, the United States should continue to work with our allies to deepen our intelligence cooperation, counter-terrorism financing and re-double our efforts to address the threat from where it emanates.

"Every time an attack is carried out, ISIS is emboldened, their popularity grows and the threat worldwide escalates. The only way to beat them is to annihilate them.
