In response to the U.S. housing and financial downturns, Congress has considered reforms to reduce the likelihood of future failures.I have opposed taxpayer funded measures that reward bad behavior and further bankrupt our nation, such as the Wall Street Bailout (TARP) and the failed Stimulus package, while supporting proven methods to encourage economic growth, including:
* Ending government bailouts once and for all,
* Transforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,
* Reforming the Federal Reserve,
* Making the government more transparent and accountable to the American people.
