Governor Hassan's Statement on March Unemployment Rate

Date: April 12, 2016
Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan today issued the following statement on the announcement that New Hampshire's unemployment rate dropped to 2.6 percent in March:

"In February, New Hampshire's unemployment rate was tied for the lowest in the nation, and with it falling again in March to 2.6 percent, it is clear that our economy continues to move in the right direction. With this low unemployment rate, innovative businesses looking to grow here in New Hampshire need more workers now, which is why I have announced our Gateway to Work Plan to develop and expand our workforce as our economy continues to strengthen, while at the same time closing the opportunity gap for our families. Working across party lines, we have made real bipartisan progress for our people and businesses, but there is still more work to do to support job-creating businesses, expand middle class opportunity and build a stronger, more innovative New Hampshire where all of our people have the opportunity to get ahead and stay ahead."
