Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on the proposed 10 percent rate increase for Maryland customers:

"I am deeply concerned by Pepco's proposed 10 percent rate increase, especially coming so soon after the Pepco-Exelon merger approval. The Public Service Commission has rejected high Pepco rate increases as unjustified before, and this proposal needs strict scrutiny to protect Maryland ratepayers."
