Van Hollen Files Amicus Brief in Support of President Obama's Clean Power Plan

Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Co-Chair of the Bicameral Task Force on Climate Change and a member of the Safe Climate Caucus and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), joined a bipartisan group of current and former Members of Congress to file an amicus brief in support of the Obama administration's historic Clean Power Plan (CPP).

The CPP is currently being challenged in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in West Virginia et al. v. Environmental Protection Agency.

"The Clean Power Plan is a historic and necessary blueprint for creating good-paying jobs in new energy technologies while achieving urgently needed reductions in greenhouse gas emissions," said Congressman Van Hollen. "I am confident the Clean Power Plan will survive this challenge, and I urge my colleagues in Congress to pass meaningful legislation to continue this effort, like my Healthy Climate and Family Security Act."‎
