Meng Cosponsors Bills to Combat Iran's Ballistic Missile Activities

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and its Subcommittee on the Middle East, today issued the following statement on cosponsoring two pieces of legislation that aim to combat Iran's ballistic missile activities: the Zero Tolerance for Terror Act and the Iran Ballistic Missile Prevention and Sanctions Act of 2016.

"Iran's recent ballistic missile tests are very troubling and the U.S. and international community cannot tolerate this outrageous and unacceptable behavior.

When Iran's actions threaten the world and violate U.N. Security Council resolutions, it must be held accountable. These bills would accomplish that by holding Iran's feet to the fire, allowing Congress to swiftly impose sanctions in response to any ballistic missile activities or support for terrorism.

Iran's aggression must not be allowed to stand. I am proud to cosponsor both of these measures."
