Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement today in response to the Obama administration's decision to define ISIS attacks on religious minorities as genocide:
"After mounting pressure from the American public and Congress, Secretary Kerry and the Obama administration finally admitted that ISIS attacks on religious minorities, who are being targeted and murdered by this terrorist group, are acts of genocide. Now, this administration must accept that the current strategy will not be enough to defeat ISIS, a group that continues to grow in strength, numbers, wealth and other resources. I believe in American exceptionalism and our ability to be strong, resolute and confident in the execution of a precise, overwhelming, and devastating blow. We must defeat the threat abroad or we will be fighting them more here at home."
