"We stand in solidarity with the people of Belgium today, following these heinous terrorist attacks, and we will continue to stand with them in the difficult days to come as Belgians come together to heal and bring those responsible to justice.
"Fighting terror must be a top priority for the United States. We must work together at home and with our allies abroad to ensure that we are promoting tough and smart approaches to keep people safe.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Belgium, the victims, and all those who lost family, friends and loved ones in these senseless acts of violence."
