Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement after learning that the Pentagon has ordered combatant commanders to focus on the President's green agenda instead of how best to plan and fight the nation's wars.
"Despite increasing threats around the world, the President has made it clear that he believes climate change -- not ISIS, Russia, Iran or North Korea -- is our biggest threat to national security. The President is more interested in creating a bureaucracy of climate change boards, councils and working groups within the Department of Defense to micromanage the impacts of military training and weapons buying on the climate. This is not only a waste of time and taxpayer money, but it also puts our country at more risk as the President would rather focus on "going green" than on real, credible threats. I plan to introduce an amendment in the NDAA to address this issue."
