Rogers Applauds Long-Term Federal Transportation Bill

U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for taking final action to pass the Nation's first long-term transportation bill in a decade. Today, the House approved a conference report for the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act (H.R. 22), a five-year reform bill aimed at improving roads, bridges, transit systems and rail transportation by giving states and local governments more flexibility to make important investments in our transportation infrastructure.

"The FAST Act will put us on the fast-track to better roads and transportation across the country, paving the way for safer commutes and better jobs," said Rogers. "This bill cuts through the red-tape in Washington and allows each state to get to work faster on the most critical projects at home."

The Fast Act is fully funded and ensures the Highway Trust Fund can meet all obligations over the next five years.
