Cramer: House Passes H.R. 1314 - Bipartisan Budget Agreement of 2015

Statement

Congressman Kevin Cramer announced today the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.R. 1314, the Bipartisan Budget Agreement of 2015. On Tuesday, Cramer joined a bipartisan group of colleagues to publicly express their opposition to a section of the bill which re-opened the 2014 Farm Bill and cut $3 billion from the crop insurance program.

"Working with House Agriculture Chairman Mike Conaway and other colleagues, we received personal assurances from leadership and incoming Speaker of the House Paul Ryan the crop insurance issue would be corrected in separate legislation. Because of these assurances I was able to cast my vote in support of the bill," said Cramer. "In a divided government, you are never able to everything you want, but by agreeing to limited increases in discretionary spending, we are able to provide our Armed Forces with the additional support they need to defend our freedoms around the globe and make meaningful reforms to entitlement spending."
