Cramer: House Passes H.R. 3762, Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act

Press Release

Date: Oct. 23, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Kevin Cramer announced today the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3762, Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act. The bill repeals large portions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, and places a moratorium on federal Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood.

"Obamacare continues to drive up health care insurance costs and limit options for consumers," said Cramer. "This legislation was painstakingly drafted to pass the House and Senate and get to the desk of the President. The Senate's unwillingness to vote on any legislation forces us to utilize this parliamentary tactic to repeal large portions of Obamacare."

This is the first time in a decade the reconciliation process has been used because both the House and Senate passed a budget this year.
