Cramer: House Approves Select Committee to Investigate Planned Parenthood

Press Release

Date: Oct. 7, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives approved H. Res. 461, a resolution establishing a Select Investigative Panel of the Committee on Energy and Commerce to investigate Planned Parenthood after a series of undercover videos published by the Center for Medical Progress showed senior Planned Parenthood officials reportedly discussing the sale of body parts from aborted fetuses.

Congressman Cramer voted in favor of the resolution and is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

"Planned Parenthood receives $500 million in taxpayer dollars every year and Congress has an important oversight role to determine if it violated federal law by selling body parts from aborted babies. If Planned Parenthood didn't do anything wrong it should welcome this investigation to help clear the air and set the record straight. I look forward to reviewing the select committee's findings and determining if laws were broken.
