Todd Young Backs Indiana and 27 States Seeking to Overturn EPA Clean Power Plan in Courts

Statement

Date: Feb. 23, 2016
Issues: Energy

Congressman Todd Young (R-IN) issued the following statement after joining an amicus brief filed today in the case of State of West Virginia, et al. v. Environmental Protection Agency, et al. A copy of the amicus brief can be found here.

"Mandates in Obama's Clean Power Plan regulation are among the most egregious of his tenure and Hoosiers will see a detrimental impact to grid reliability and higher consumer costs as a result. Unfortunately, the way it is now, when unelected bureaucrats overstep their legal authority to issue regulations which result in lower wages, lost jobs, and higher utility bills, we're forced to seek remedy in the courts. Regulatory reforms like my REINS Act could altogether eliminate the need for states and private citizens to defend their sovereignty in court up against a mammoth federal government's endless pockets."

-- Congressman Todd Young (R-IN)
