Rokita Remembers Howard County Deputy on House Floor

Statement

Today, U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives in memoriam of Howard County Sheriff's Deputy Carl Koontz. Deputy Koontz was killed in the line of duty while serving a warrant last weekend.

Rep. Rokita praised Deputy Koontz's dedication to serving the citizens of Howard County and provided a touching tribute to his life. He also asked for continued prayers for continued recovery of Sgt. Jordan Buckley who was also injured.

"I offer my deepest and most heartfelt condolences for the family of Deputy Koontz during this time and I thank him for all his hard work and ultimate sacrifice."

A funeral for Deputy Koontz will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 11AM at Northwestern High School in Kokomo.
