Representative Todd Rokita issued the following statement on the passing of former First Lady Nancy Reagan.

"Kathy and I are saddened to hear of the passing of Nancy Reagan and extend our prayers to her family and friends during this difficult time.

"Nancy Reagan was a source of strength for her husband, President Ronald Reagan, and our nation as a whole. After eight years in Washington, Nancy and Ronald returned home and established the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to educate the public on their legacy.

"I once had the privilege of taking a private tour of the Reagan Ranch. From that visit, I saw that the Reagans lived humbly and that in their private lives they truly were the same as their public personas."
