Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman introduced the Separation of Powers Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act, H.R. 4321. This legislation mirrors Senator Rand Paul's bill S. 2434 and already has 60 original house co-sponsors.

The bill limits the President's ability to bulldoze over the system our forefathers set in place to limit a tyrannical government. It halts any actions that violate the Second Amendment or infringe on Congress's Article I responsibilities as having "no force or effect," prohibits funds for such actions, and establishes standing for Congress, state and local governments, and for aggrieved persons to challenge such actions in district court.
"As you may know, the President is once again distracting Americans from his failure to keep us safe by attacking our right to defend ourselves. That's why I am introducing legislation to invalidate and defund any illegal executive actions," Congressman Stutzman, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee's Second Amendment Initiative, said.
Senator Rand Paul said, "In the United States, we do not have a king, but we do have a Constitution. We also have the Second Amendment, and I will fight tooth and nail to protect it."
