Stutzman's Response to President's Executive Actions Announcement

Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee's Second Amendment Initiative released the following response to the President's Executive actions announcement:

I knew the President would continue to disregard the legislative process and announce yet another executive action limiting our constitutional rights. That's why on Dec. 21st, while he was vacationing in Hawaii, I sent a letter to the White House with the support of over 30 house colleagues, preparing for his announcement.

Clearly our letter made an impact since he tampered the reported aggressive overreach he was planning to exhaust. The announcement continues to prove the president's priority is to distract Americans from his failure to keep us safe by threatening our constitutional rights.

I look forward to reviewing the details of his proposals and clarifications of current law with my staff. In the days and weeks ahead I will be vigilant about any changes that would infringe on our Second Amendment rights.
