Stutzman Awards Congressional Commendation to WWII Veteran

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) will honor Mr. Marshall Didier with the Navy Unit Congressional Commendation Ribbon today and issued the following statement:

"It gives me great pleasure to present the Navy Commendation ribbon to Mr. Didier. His dedication and patriotism to our country is not just apparent through his actions but also beams through his children. His son shared some incredible stories during the Banzai Attack, which is why we fount to award him with this medal today. Thank you for your service and inspiring generations."

Mr. Didier served in World War II and completed numerous Iwo Jima operations as a member of the 483rd Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion.

The Navy Unit Commendation was created in 1944 by then Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal to honor distinguished unit heroism by any ship, aircraft wing, group, squadron, or crew in action or combat.
