Following a bipartisan vote by the New Hampshire State Senate to pass House Bill 1116, relative to net energy metering, Governor Maggie Hassan issued this statement:
"Our growing clean energy economy has New Hampshire ranked as one of the top five states for renewable energy, and the clean energy industry, including solar, is playing a critical role in that success -- creating good-paying, high-quality jobs, spurring economic development and helping combat climate change. Solar and other small scale clean energy resources are helping businesses and families across the state lower their energy bills and increase their energy independence, helping to build a more diverse and reliable energy supply that will lead to a more affordable and more innovative energy future for our state. I applaud legislators from both parties for their recognition of the importance of lifting the cap on net metering, and I look forward to signing this bipartisan bill so that our clean energy industry can continue to grow and thrive."
