Duckworth Announces Nearly $340,000 for Hamdard Center for Health and Human Services

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) today announced $336,504 in federal funding for the Hamdard Center for Health and Human Services in Addison. Today's funding comes through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Health Center Cluster grant program, which provides resources to help providers better meet the needs of low-income and underserved communities.

"The Hamdard Center provides important health services in the Eighth District, and this infusion of federal funds will help ensure they can meet the needs of the Addison community," said Congresswoman Duckworth.

Hamdard Center for Health and Human Services, also known as Hamdard Healthcare, is a not-for-profit health and social service provider that was founded by Dr. Farzana Hamid and Dr. Mohammad Hamid in 1992. The center aims to promote and support physical and mental well-being by offering a variety of culturally-sensitive and linguistically-appropriate services to the families it serves, who are often of South Asian or Middle-Eastern origin.
