"Today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the need to protect trade secrets was an overwhelmingly compelling case for Congress to pass the Defend Trade Secrets Act, and pass it now. I heard firsthand from the witness panel how trade secret theft negatively impacts every state in the nation."

"American innovators use trade secrets to protect 5 trillion dollars' worth of intellectual property. Unfortunately, these job creators are ill-equipped under current law to protect their intellectual property assets from theft by sophisticated criminal enterprises, including hostile foreign governments. With over 90 bipartisan cosponsors in the House, 14 in the Senate, and 43 supporting organizations, it's time for Congress to pass the Defend Trade Secrets Act and set the international gold standard for intellectual property protection. Our global competitiveness depends on it."
