House Committee Approves Carter Bill to Reauthorize FLETC

The House Committee on Homeland Security today approved Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter's (Ga-01) Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers Reform and Improvement Act. The legislation would reauthorize the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Brunswick, Georgia.

"Since its creation in the 1970's, FLETC has provided high-quality, cost-effective, standardized training for federal law enforcement training officers from multiple agencies," Carter said. "During this time, authorities within the Office of the Director have been implemented that need to be codified into law. I am pleased the committee approved this important legislation today moving this authorization forward to ensure FLETC remains the preeminent facility for law enforcement training in the United States."
