Issue Position: Maintain the Quality of Healthcare in Montana

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

Given the double digit hikes in healthcare costs this last year, it's undeniable that the current approach to healthcare in Montana is not working. We must maintain the quality of healthcare in Montana, care for those that can't care for themselves and preserve and expand rural access, but we must find ways to reduce the burden of healthcare costs on families and small businesses. One in seven Montanans works in healthcare today, up from one in eleven just 20 years ago; when all Montanans work in healthcare, who will plant the wheat and build our homes? Other states are increasing healthcare quality and reducing costs with increased price transparency, more consumer incentives and telemedicine. We should too.
