It's time for Congress to undertake a major overhaul of our tax system. The U.S. has the highest corporate income tax rate in the industrialized world. We must cut this rate to incentivize international businesses to invest in America. The tax code should also incentivize American businesses to create jobs here instead of shipping jobs overseas. Congress must also eliminate the capital gains tax, the death tax, and lower the income tax rate in order to broaden the base and create jobs. Additionally, the Bush tax cuts should be made permanent.

I fully support and cosponsored the Fair Tax Act (H.R. 25), which would replace the current tax code with a simple sales tax on goods and services, excluding necessities. Under this commonsense plan, the IRS would be gone for good. Hardworking Americans could keep their entire paycheck and pay taxes based on what they spend.
