It is in America's national interest that we remain capable of providing our nation's own food supply. It is unfortunate that America's farmers face not simply global competition, but also face regulatory and tax burdens from the federal government that threaten their industry.

Family farmers deserve tax relief and a consistent, stable, clean water supply.

Buddy Carter supports tax relief for farmers in the form of income tax credits to offset the cost of insurance against severe drought or flood.

Carter's proposed tax relief for farmers would be targeted to small family farms with income of $250,000 annually or less.

Buddy Carter also has a strong record in the Georgia Senate protecting water rights of Georgia's farmers. As Senator Buddy Carter voted to protect Southeast Georgia farmers from having their traditional water supply diverted away from them.
