Statement

Date: March 15, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding new actions by the Obama Administration that will ease restrictions on trade and travel between the United States and Cuba.

"Today's actions by the Administration are another step forward in normalizing relations between the United States and Cuba, and I applaud the President for taking these commonsense steps to bridge the gap between our two nations," said Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro. "These reforms will help to boost American exports and expand business relations with Cuba. The United States' Cuba policy is decades out-of-date and it is clear that the best way to bring democratic change is through economic participation and inclusion. Congress should follow the President's lead and end the Cuban embargo."
