Graves Votes Against Debt Ceiling Increase

U.S. Representative Sam Graves issued the following statement after voting against a bill to raise the debt ceiling this evening. The budget agreement passed the House by a vote of 266-167, with unanimous Democrat support.
"Our national debt has grown at an unacceptable level over the past six and a half years," Rep. Graves said. "We simply cannot continue raising the debt ceiling without addressing the root of our problem -- too much spending in Washington. By ignoring this problem we are doing a significant disservice to future generations of Americans, and I know we can do better."
