Hoyer Statement on the Passing of Justice Scalia

House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) released the following statement today on the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia:

"I was saddened to learn of the passing of Justice Antonin Scalia today. No matter what one thought about his rulings or views, he was passionate about the Constitution and a towering figure in American jurisprudence over the past decades. He brought to the Court a love of the law and deep pride in his Italian-American roots. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Maureen and their family as well as his colleagues."
