Issue Position: Defending the Constitution Against the Tea Party and Right-Wing Attacks

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016
Issues: Constitution

A constitutional law professor and author of several books, including the Washington Post Bestseller Overruling Democracy: the Supreme Court versus the American People, Jamie will be a lucid and passionate voice defending constitutional freedom and recovering the Constitution and its true meanings from Tea Party extremists. He will zealously defend the First Amendment, the separation of church and state, and the entire Bill of Rights.

As Jamie said in 2006 while testifying as an expert for a committee in Annapolis, "Senator, with all due respect, when you took your oath of office, you put your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You did not put you hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible."
