Governor Hassan Announces Job Training Grants for Five New Hampshire Companies in January

Building on her efforts to help New Hampshire workers foster the skills and innovative thinking needed for success in the 21st century economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that five New Hampshire companies have been awarded job training grants to help them train 123 workers in new skills.

The job training grants total $78,908 and the companies contributed matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $227,820.

"I am proud to announce the latest round of important grants to help New Hampshire workers develop skills for high-quality jobs at growing businesses," Governor Hassan said. "Helping thousands of workers develop the skills that are critical to success in the innovation economy, New Hampshire's Job Training Fund is an important resource that helps keep our economy moving in the right direction. We must continue to focus on strengthening our workforce pipeline through job training and higher education in order to expand middle class opportunity and support innovative businesses."

Northpoint Engineering LLC of Pembroke was granted up to $5,028 for five employees to receive training in Civil 3D AutoCad from Imaginit.

A grant of up to $65,000 was awarded to Rapid Manufacturing LLC of Nashua for 65 employees to enroll in five different leadership courses at Velocity Performance of Nashua.

DeStefano Architects LLC of Portsmouth received a grant of $2,163 to train four employees in the Deltek Vision HR Planning software provided by Central Consulting Group.

Benson Woodworking Company, Inc. of Walpole received a $5,700 grant to train 32 employees in Systems Integration and Lean Manufacturing at Tandem Training.

Nipro Consumer Health of Lancaster was granted $1,017 for 17 employees to receive training in MS Office Suite at White Mountains Community College.

The Job Training Fund has awarded $8,557,667 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $11,314,498 for a total of $19,872,165 in new training for 25,023 New Hampshire workers.
