Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement on the vote today by the House of Representatives to pass expedited legislation to combat the heroin and opioid crisis:

"I applaud the House of Representatives for their overwhelming support of expedited legislation to combat the heroin and opioid crisis, reinforcing that there is bipartisan consensus that the need for ongoing action remains urgent. These measures are an important step forward in our efforts to support law enforcement and others on the front lines while strengthening prevention, treatment and recovery. I look forward to signing this bipartisan legislation into law and continuing to work with members from both parties and all stakeholders on additional efforts to combat this horrible epidemic, including the reauthorization of our bipartisan New Hampshire Health Protection Program, which is the single most effective step that we can take to increase treatment capacity."
